Beyonce and Jay-Z surprised fans Friday by releasing photos of their newborn daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. Photos of the 1-month-old were posted by her parents on Tumblr blog page http://helloblueivycarter.tumblr.com. A hand-written note accompanying the photos reads, "We welcome you to share our joy."
Blue Ivy was born on January 7 and weighed in at 7 pounds.
"Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven," the couple said in a statement following the birth.

"Blue was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives," the proud parents said.
Not long after Blue Ivy's birth, proud papa Jay-Z (seen here in September at a tennis match with Beyonce) released a song about Blue entitled Glory.
"The most amazing feeling I feel. Words can't describe the feeling, for real. Baby, I paint the sky blue. My greatest creation was you, you: Glory."
Beyonce announced her pregnancy in August at the MTV Video Music Awards.
After debuting her (tiny) bump on the red carpet, she performed Love on Top. At the end of the performance she sweetly rubbed her belly and said, “I want you to feel the love that's growing inside me.” Cameras panned to a beaming Jay-Z in the audience.
All eyes were on Beyonce throughout her pregnancy. Here, she makes one of her last public appearances before giving birth at a special November screening of Beyonce Live at Roseland.
